Painting classes are held at
Eve’s home in Herne Bay, Kent. There are a maximum of
4 students in the class so you can be assured of quality personal attention
and guidance with your work.
The lessons take place in a
room with a lot of natural light. around a large table, so students
will need to acquire a table easel.
Complete beginners are welcome
and will receive structured lessons in a broad range of skills and knowledge
necessary for any artist. These subjects include: composition,
rule of thirds, creating focal points, warm and cool colours and how
to use them, brush shapes and sizes and how to use them, tone, illusion
of depth, exercises in training the eye to ‘see’. There is
sometimes a little bit of homework but nothing too arduous! More
accomplished painters can discuss the areas of their work they wish
to develop and a suitable personal program will be designed. Should
a student wish to learn the Mische Technique they will be shown how
to make and use egg tempera and how to apply oil glazes and gold-leaf.
The atmosphere is friendly
and informal; music, tea/coffee and biscuits are provided. Many
people have commented how deeply relaxing and stress relieving they
find these classes.
