The wishing bowl

Oil and Egg Tempera 20 x 24 4,400

The Bowl or Cauldron has long been a symbol for the womb, that place where life is collected and given form. This painting refers to the moments before the potential becomes actual, and is brought into being.

The masked figure holds the bowl towards you inviting you to project and see your wishes, desires, dreams, so that they may become realised. The gold mask reminds that you cannot see the origin of being, only its expression.

Hand embellished giglee print on canvas. 440
